In addition to serving as a lieutenant on the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department, Rolando Exposito is also the president of Miami’s Headstart Global Ventures, LLC, where he is a health and wellness consultant. Outside of his professional life, Rolando Exposito supports the United Way of Miami-Dade.
Earlier this year, the United Way of Miami-Dade celebrated its opening of EDEN Place in Miami’s inner-city area. The EDEN mission (Educate, Develop, Empower Nurture) is the brainchild of former NBA star Alonzo Mourning and Martin Z. Margulies, a local real-estate development professional. In partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the organization is focused on offering family-oriented services and counseling for local youth.
United Way spearheaded this initiative in order to help families take more of an active role in the education of their children. In addition to school-based support, EDEN Place will also offer programs in performing arts, life skills, and recreation.
Visit overtownyouth.org/edenplace for more information about the program.
